An Origin Story...
The Bee Civil Balm Factory started with three seemingly unrelated questions…
Why does the world suck so much?
I mean if you watch the news; people are just greedy, petty, self-serving, selfish, hateful, little cruelty automatons of conspicuous consumption. It doesn’t even matter if you’re eating from the left trough or the right trough, it’s still a trough.
Well, after wrestling with that happy little nugget for a while, my COVID-19 induced boredom produced a second similar, big internal question…
I wonder how they make lip balm?
I found that answer pretty quickly.Soon after perfecting a lip balm recipe of such profound quality that its discovery shook the very foundations of what we all perceive as reality, the third question was revealed to me...
What if you could make and sell an amazing product with high quality natural and organic raw ingredients AND give 30% of everything you make to causes you believe in?
If you put both questions together, they form the equation that created the Bee Civil Balm Factory. I figured out the answer to #2, and I’m pretty sure that solved the riddle of #1. It may not quite measure up to the theory of relativity, or Newton’s first law of motion, but it got me off the couch, and it unlocked the three mystical answers lip balm makers have been searching for for centuries.
I don’t know why the world sucks.
But I know it’s worse when we treat it like a traffic accident and stand by and do nothing.
So, being very similar to Einstein in terms of math and smart, and I like the poster he made that says, “The world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do evil, but because of those who look on and do nothing.” I decided to look on and do something.
I do know how to make amazing lip balm, and Einstein said to do something.
Which spawned the elegant equation that changed the small batch handcrafted lip balm world and the universe forever: (BCBF-.3)*x3=501c$.
I think we all know what that means.
Thus, begins the storied history of the Bee Civil Balm Factory.
Which can be summed up as: we make stuff and we give as much away as we can to great causes and organizations actively doing something to reduce suction levels across the planet.
